24 wks undectable - other posts welcome

24 wk test undectable, I'm very happy but as always, remain cautiously optimistic:)
1B, dx 8/04 - viral load 644000, PegIntron/Riba - Friday was 26/48. (clear at 12 wks also).  Hope the background info is encouraging to 1s..
Honey; Cuteous; Chevy; Befuddled; Furbacat; Daryl; Cindee- Thanks so much for your encouraging posts to me - Snook, I hope you're doing well, have you started tx yet?  Not one day has passed that I haven't thought of you all and everyone else on this board:  I've missed you all..
I have a lot of reading to do to catch up on everyone's news.
Sx are still fine, in fact, I'm sleeping much better these days.  My Dr. said to take the Riba earlier in the day so now take 3 pills before 7:00am and 2 pills before 3pm, seems to be helping a lot.
My WBCs are down to 2.4 and absolute neutrophils are at 854, everything else is within normal range.  First thyroid test since treatment is 1.74.  So far, so good:)
I hope everyone is enjoing summer and that the humidity is not as bad where you as it is here...
Love and best wishes to all..:)

Congratulations an your latest test results. I have been meaning to ask a question about 24, and 36 week tests. I was called after my 24 and 36 week tests and told I was "still" undetectable and the nurse practitioner told me in a congratulatory way. I was under the impression that if you clear than you should stay clear until stopping treatment and THEN see if you STAY clear after 3,6 12 months. How many people clear after 4 or 12 weeks and then the virus becomes detectable again DURING treatment later on? Thanks for any info.

Anyone have an idea how long it typically takes to get your blood counts back up to pre-tx once you have ended tx?  I'm hoping it's very quickly.  I have lots I want to start back doing once I've finished and before the cold weather really sets in.  Just did 42/48.

Amerabrit ((((HUGS)))) You were missed!! Great News on the 24 week no detect!!  Ohhhhh yeahhh,,,,hows your hair coming along LOL

Hph,,,Not sure about the blood counts and when they actually come up but looks like most are reporting after about 3 months they are doing great. congratulations on #42 and yes,,,,You now down on count down list!! Yeah!!  Take Care!

Petey,,,I think the per cent is really low on clearing during tx and then it showing up again,,,,Maybe like a 1% chance.  Usually it is the first few weeks of stopping tx,,,if its going to pop up,,,that is the time!

Congrats Ameribrit!! Time to set the "Cruise Control" now and just cruise on down to the finish. My white counts stabilized a bit lower than yours and my ANC's were about the same and I made it through just fine. You're lookin GREAT!

Petey.....
Seeing the counts come back and go up while still on tx is called "Breakthrough". It doesn't happen very often, but it does happen sometimes. It's important to know as this can make a difference on any future tx. It is a BAD thing to have happen.

Hph.......
Don't expect too much too quickly. You should start to "feel" better fairly quickly....BUT....it takes awhile longer for your blood counts to really come back fully. It's easy to try to get too active too early and burn yourself out. You can find yourself back in the bed feeling lousey if this happens. Give yourself a couple 2-3 months before you try to get back to going full tilt. Eating right and taking the vitamins are 2 things that you can do to help yourself recover. Listen to your body and rest when it says you need to.  Good Luck...........

Good to see you back, and feeling well..Great news on going undetectable..
I have not started tx yet.Wife keeps bugging me to make the call, and go in for blood work so I can start.I have been feeling so well lately, I am a little reluctant to jump back into tx.. I know it is false feeling, as I'm just prolonging the inevitable.Have been taking Effexor xr, for the past week or two, as to be ready for tx. So far, they are pretty good..They don't put me in a zombie state like the Celexa..I will be starting in next couple weeks, just have to make the mental decision, and do the deed..My anniversary date is this month with work, so my health insurance through them will reinstate.. This is good, encase I need disability or anything that I can't get off wife's insurance..
I hope that there are no harsh feelings between us, as that is the last thing I want.. After you left, I left for a few days, came back and couldn't believe some of the posts I read...You do have alot of reading to do!!! Welcome back, and hope the good news continues for you...

Congrats!!!!! That is great news. It'll sure help with moral to get to the finish!!! It's great to start my day with this news!

Petey. It is highly uncommon for someone to be undetectable then detectable again before the end of tx. It does happen but very rarely. After the 24 week you normally have one more PCR just before ending tx to make sure all is well. I don't think I have seen anyone be detectable at this point. Someone will mention it if they have but still it is a VERY low percent. After tx. some docs do 3 months, 6 months then 18 months but many do 6 months and then 18 months. I believe this is because at 3 months maintaning SVR is 90% and at 6 it is 99.9 (for pegasys anyway). At 6 months post tx you are considered SVR.
Have a good day. LL

Good question.  i sometimes ask myself the same thing but ultimately, we're all different and respond differently to tx.  If you're a betting man, EVRs have good odds of winning:).  Best of luck to you.

Congratulations Ameribrit and belated to Chevie.  I am on shot 27 tomorrow and will get tested next week.  I was not undetectable at week 12 so this is a stressful wait.  My doc lowered my dose for 2 months so wants to wait an extra month to get the viral load.  (Little does he know I only reduced the Pegasys a wee bit and just for 3 weeks.)

Hope you stay around Chevie to keep us on an even, happy keel!

Indiana sorry to hear about the wife-my husband had a rough time two months ago and it is a terrible time.  Thanks for sticking around waiting for us to fill THE bus with you.

I hope you had a great rest. The problem with vacation is that you have to play catch up in the readings and it takes soooo long sometimes.
Great news.
I felt myself relaxing after the pcr of wk 52,  my second negative one. I now feel less fearflul that I can infect someone with my blood. That tension has eased considerably. I needed that 2nd negative for that.
Now to worry about svr and cure, with no LT effects. ;-}
I hope you are back???

Amerabrit...hey and it's so good to see your post again!!! WOW!!! Congrats on your 24 undectable!!!!! I am sooooooo happy for you. You are always in my prayers and you are a wonderful person. Your posts always make me smile.....((HUGS)))) and much love, Cindee

Chev, I am too awaiting your next results....I still have problems with the easiest words...and I've been done w/ tx for almost 8 months!!!! Indy thinks I have a touch of "blonde" in me....I told him my hair was so blonde it was white, until the 3rd grade...then it turned brown. (ALL BLONDES ONLY KIDDING) You poor blondes, why is it..you get all the jokes????? LOL I never understood that! Still don't!

But Chev sweetie...you are always in my prayers and I love you so much. If I had you're e-mail, I'd send ya Sandi's addy. I guess she thinks I have it, but I don't. If ya ever want to e-mail me....it's  southern   34   belle   98   at  yahooooooooooooooo!!!!!! LOL Love and many prayers always, Cindee ps some of my thinking, or not being able to think clearly...could be the morphine...I hate that ****...the morphine....years ago..when I was a "junkie"...I would have loved to have had a script for it!!!! Funny how we change huh?

BTW I am "CLEAN" from drugs 11 years today!!!!! WOW  how time does fly! Hallie told me...I couldn't keep her "baby" if I was on drugs...when it was almost time for Kyleigh to be born. Hallie's due date was August 20th and Kyleigh was born on August 12th. I stopped drugs on August 1st and the day she was born, I was "drug-free" and not a bit sick, when I stopped after doing them for 17years!!!! Now that WAS GOD!!!!! That's why I am for PRAYER...it does work...and NOBODY can ever tell me otherwise!!!!! I went thru 3 tx of methadone...and was never able to stop, but with GOD all things are possible..I am walking and talking proof! I remember the day Hallie was in labor. We had spent about 22 hrs @ the hospital. I had slept on the floor in a nearby waiting room. I felt so dirty and wanted a shower and clean clothes....my Mother @ Daddy live about 7 mins from the hospital. I had gone there to shower and change into clean clothes. I was just finishing up...brushing my teeth, when Hallie's husband called me. He was FRANTIC...he said please get back here ASAP...she's already dialated to a 67!!!! ( the dr. had said a 6 or 7...) but when he said a 67...I said "Scott, you mean a 6 or 7...otherwise...she's having a "house"!!!!!! LOL

And it's funny now... ( not meaning in the sense of ha ha ha ha ) Hallie is the one on drugs now....funny how the tables turn huh? But still keep Hallie in your prayers as well. She's living 4 hours away w/ her aunt and she "needs" to be there! Away from temptation...she's just not strong enough yet! Okay I'll stop for now...but only for now.....I love ya gal, Cindee

Wow...11 years to the day...CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU.......
You have done it......(I feel that 11 is very powerful number...you go, girl!!!)  I cannot even imagine the struggles you must have gone through. I am praying for your daughter, Hallie as well. You are a great inspiration to your daughter in her struggles as well. Bless you, Cindee....tell Betty and her hubby I said "hello"....tell Betty that I am sending up prayers to her....and give her a hug for me....thanks...love to you.

LOL  You are funny!!  Yes,,,I know exactly what you mean about all the things you could handle before TX,,,,all in one day no less and now,,,,you think back and say "how on earth did I do all that" LOL  That is the part that I can soooo relate to as I also am a very take charge person and my schedule is always full and now sometimes just small tasks can send you back to couch or better yet....MedHelp!! LOL  Chev,,,,I know it will all come back to you,,,patience! Easier said then done but everyone surrounding you is just going to have to still give you the space you need as you still need to recover so please don't overdo!!  Porch Swing,,,,Awww,,,would I ever love to,,We could unload our problems and then feel sooo much better!!  Love you!!
