Oral sex with cut

Hi,
Apologies in advance for the details. I am a gay male. 3 days ago while receiving oral sex from my partner of 5 months, there was a sharp pain on my penis, he continued on. Straight afterwards there was about a 1 cm in diameter graze on my penis where he had accidentally bitten it, which is now turning into a scab. We had already established that we were both HIV negative and we use condoms but not for oral. I had a full range of tests 6 months ago, including Hep C, and all were negative. But after this episode he tells me he has Hepatitis C and is receiving no treatment. Won't go into the trust issues that arose from this.
However, my questions :
a) Could I have been infected here?
b) Should I get tested and when?
c) Are there any steps in the future I need to take to keep myself safe?
Thankyou for reading.

Hepatitis C isn't transmitted by saliva.   If he had a cut in his mouth this may be an issue.

Could I have been infected here?   Not very likely.  Low risk without blood
transmission from the person who has hepatitis C.

Should I get tested and when?   Get tested in 6 weeks if your still concern.
You would also want to be tested again in 6 months to confirm.  If your really concerned you may have been infected with hep C get a Hep C RNA PCR (viral load test) in three weeks after exposure.  You will then know if you have been infected or not.   The test is conclusive.   You won't need
further testing for this exposure.  But it is expensive ($400).

Are there any steps in the future I need to take to keep myself safe?
Hepatitis C isn't that easy to get.  But you are in a high risk group.  Hepatitis C is transmitted by blood.   So where blood is involved by a person who has hepatitis C there can be exposure.  Anal sex should always include condoms.   Due to the fact of blood transmission being possible.  You might want to have a discussion before sex and set some no biting rules first.

Educate yourself about Hepatitis C.  Better to be ask before exposure than
after the fact.

Welcome to the forum and I hope this is helpful.
