My father underwent a Liver & Kidney transplant 4 years ago. When he was at the end stages and his amonia levels were high, he would often talk to his self, imagine what he was watching on tv was what was really happening in real life. The typical side effects of his amnoia levels. He has been in great health after his transplants. Hasn't had any problems and my mother and I have noticed a few changes in him. He is starting to talk to his self a lot. He will have long drawn out conversations with his self almost like he were talking to someone else. He is very forgetful, you can tell him the same thing at least 5 or 6 times a day and not even remeber that you told him, it's like he's hearing it for the first time. I thought that my mother should at least mention it to his doctors and she didn't think she needed to. I really think that she should to be on the safe side. He gets his normal blood work but if they don't know how is is behaving then how do they know to look for signs of any problems? Should this be a concern?
