ive never taken it or any immunosuppresive drug - there are many precautions that need attention before taking these types of drugs
I'm on Cyclosporine following my liver transplant a year ago. What did you want to know about it?
What side affects have you experienced, if any?
I was dx with autoimmune hepatitis, hepatitis C and other autoimmune disorders that are steroid resistant. I came across cyclosporine while I was researching possible treatment options.
I'm going to discuss it with my doctor at my next appt. But I would also like imput from someone that has actually taken the drug.....Thank you!

Like most immunosuppressants, the side effects can be pretty severe. I am pretty sure that my diabetes is directly connected to my immunosuppressive use and I also have elevated creatinine levels which long term will be problematic. It is not unusual for long term cyclosporine users to have renal failure. Biggest side effect I've noticed is body hair growth- my has been very noticable on my arms, legs, chest, and back. I've been bald my entire adult life but I regrew hair on my head that hadn't been present in decades. It's a shame that cyclosporine has such potential severe side effects or I'm sure it would be a part of hair loss therapy.
Well, congratulations on the new hair growth.......i think. LOL
And, thanks for all the info. You are the best!
Take care,
christina
