Man, you're the one who is great! Full of information, inspiration, humor, razor sharp wit.  Hope you don't change too much when you crash off your interferon jag!  I want to thank YOU (and a bunch of others) for being my co-crash test dummies on this interferon/ribavirin trip.

Happy Birthday Daryl...

No....it doesn't matter WHO you do it with.....thats why they make those paper bags.

Awww Scott....My one true love.....what would WE do without you here all these months. You have been one of the true charachters around here, and I for one am greatful to see you finally comming to the finish line. I have been reserving your seat on the SVR bus for what seems like FOREVER. It's gettin crowded though. I will post some pics on Hot Heps soon. I think I have a line on a new bus. I have been "saving" myself for you. The wedding plans are comming along nicely. I think after my recent tongue lashing from Ringer we may have to move her into the wedding party. The only question that remains is..."Best Man or Maid of Honor"? What do you think?

I wasn't gonna post this so as not to bring anyone down, but I think I should say something. I just spent the last day or so in the hospital ER. I had to rush the wife over there Friday morning with chest pains and breathing problems. It has been a real sobering experience for me. As I sat there in the room looking at her....under heavy sedation...with all those tubes and wired hooked up. Listening to the beeps and bumps from all the equipment, I felt so alone and frightened. Doesn't sound like ME does it? I may know a lot about hep, but I knew little about this other medical stuff. Turns out she has pleurisy and maybe a PE(pulmonary embolism). They did some sort of therapy on her for that which consisted of a series of IV drugs to dissolve any clots and prevent new ones. It was not easy to just sit there and watch it all happen. I had way too much time to just sit there and think. I was bouncin offa the walls. I did find out that if I took her O2 finger thing off and put it on my finger....then held my breath....it would set off all kinds of alarms! I got lots of "attention" for that. LOL
I have her home now...still heavily medicated. I think that she will be ok. She is still in a lot of pain. I am her worst nightmare right now. I won't let her do anything. Nurse Ratchet has nothing on me! She is starting to get pissed at me for hovering....so that is a good sign. LOL  Oh yeah....I also took her cigarettes away and replaced them with a stop smoking kit.
I just wanted to let you all know this in case my posts sound a bit....off. I'm a little preoccupied.
Oh gee..it's 2 o'clock...time for her meds. I'm puttin on the helmet now....... I'm goin in!!!!!  Wish me luck........

Happy Birthday! I don't know you, but you sound like a great person. I too had a birthday on the 25th. I wish I had known about this site when I went through my tx. The only support I had was my family which isn't bad, because they did everything they could to make me comfortable. But, they didn't know anymore than I did about hep c. So I go through all of my tx, clear and then relapse. Now I am looking forward to more tx (infergen and Ribo) and that's why I have be asking questions.

Thanks to everyone and also in advance of future questions.

derail; happy belated bday. I don't think I wished you one yet,,i think.

did you clear the virus at 12 wks or 24? I can't remember, sorry. There is a statistical model that suggests treating for at least 36 wks from the moment you are negative.  did your pcr test go below 500 iu?  If it did not go low enough maybe there was still some virus in your blood, too low to be detected. mine goes <50iu.
