Thread hijacking/answering questions

Sorry, but I'm just going to throw this out there. When someone is on here looking for help (doesn't matter if WE think their question is important or not)I think its rude to just "hijack" a thread to rant about " how was your outting?" This is NOT a social chat room. I mean, someone (RMB) asked a question and everyone talked about POOP and other things. There are  three other forums that have chat rooms ( the one I like the best is Hep C Palace ) I will post the URL below. Sorry, but some of the "hijackings" are ridiculous.

Hope the link works, but there is a great group over there. Kathy is always in chat, and is probably one of the strongest people I know!

This is the only site I visit--it was the first one--I was welcomed with open arms and lots of info so I don't see any reason to go elsewhere.  Maybe every thread doesn't apply to me--but more do than don't.  All of this info and support has been tremedously helpful to me.

I gotta say, I enjoy the humor of this site best of all.  I am so glad I found this place.  This diagnosis and treatment of this disease has made me feel like the rest of my life is on hold more or less.  I can't imagine this place working as well any other way!  It is wonderful for the newly diagnosed to see that you can still laugh, even with this diagnosis and feeling like warmed over dog poop.

I just went on that site and signed up to check it out. There was no one on there! It said 5 people were in the chat room, but I didn't see any postings.  

I never liked chat rooms much. Message boards are better, but I have not seen a good one for Hep C.

Well...as I sit here applying my "chapstick" I ponder my words yet again.  Although I didn't hijack that thread I did contribute to the...shall I say potty humor (so as not to add insult to injury)....no one has ever accused me of having couth.  as a matter of fact my best friends teenager of 15 just told me today I have no couth....we enjoy a little banter and potty humor.....it makes me laugh...I know it's not for everyone but I did comment on not knowing anything about migraines.

Now...I don't know much but I do know one thing is for sure....I can't resist an opening to discuss plops, corn, peanuts, hemis, itchy, burning, splatter, cannons,easy flow, hard pushes, soft as soft ice cream, echos, wipe techniques (go front to back) or quiet, loud, blasting.....well I'm sure you get my drift....or should I say float.....or should I say stench or should I say....no I'm just kidding.  

no offense to anyone....you will have to excuse me I was the only girl of five brothers and it was either be the wimpy scared girl who cried at being grossed out or out do them all...and I am stubborn I will take it to the limit...although i haven't reached it yet.....

I didn't say YOU. I agree that it can't all ne doom and gloom. There is always time to get your mind off things....and YES you did try to help him , so there for my remarks weren't towards you. Mymom had a saying....don't put on a bandaid unless you've been cut.lol. That says it all.

P.S. you guys should really try to get to the site I posted, because as SF girl said its not all baout being sick. Its about sharing and comraderie, and unfortunately this site doesn't cut it for that. Because we don't have the ability to go back and forth and write what we wish. The fact that this post has "Hijacked" all conversational threads proves that.

I really resent your complaining about us socializing and not helping. I know that yesterday I spent alot of time talking about migraines on the thread you mention. It was NOT all social hour by far! In fact reliving migraines wasn't a pleasant thing for me to do at all. I was REALLY trying to help.

I enjoy helping, but I also like to get to know the people here and have a little fun. Sometimes the only time I laugh or feel good all day is when I come to this forum and hear some people having fun. That is not the only reason I come here, that is for sure, but it really lightens up some heavy stuff we are dealing with.

Getting to know others here IS part of the support we give each other, I don't feel that is hijacking a thread at all.

Most questions (and threads) are taken seriously and responded to seriously. If there is some caring or laughing in between, who does it hurt?  I think RMG got as many answers as we could give him. I am sorry we couldn't do more, but we aren't doctors!

I would sure hate to see this forum become so serious that no one ever laughed. Now that would be sad! Laugher is the best medicine, remember?
