Q about blood stained razors

Hi y'all
After reading your threads I've been wondering about the risk of reinfecting myself during tx. Maybe U could help me on that... I use a gillete mach 3 kinda razor (those cartridges are pretty expensive) but I guess I will have to use the disposable wilkinson kind during TX (no problem with that).
But oral hygiene is another matter. I use an electric toothbrush and those heads como in packages of four and they're supposed to last for a year or so... Anybody can tell me about what they used during TX? are they disposble toothbrushes? can I soak it in cloryne?
Or maybe the risk of reinfecting thru these is so minimal that is neglictable?

Even though reinfection is very unlikely,,,while I was treating, I did use disposable razors and replaced my toothbrush often. I didn't want to take any chances.

has there been a study on reinfection? can you really reinfection yourself with your own blood? Just seems odd to me since this is the same blood that is in your body as it is being treated, it steps outside your body by a cut or bleeding gums and then re enters you body by said razor or toothbrush how is it different then the blood that remained in your body?

No I don't. I could be wrong and have been many times here but it is just hard for me to imagine becoming undetectable over night. but like I said I could be way wrong here that is why I am happy to read any studies on the subject if you know of any.

Thanks a lot for your responses. I guess it doesn't make sense to worry then because the blood would have the same VL you had the previous day. It would only make sense if I used a razor from the beginning of TX at the very end of TX (with no use in between (so there would be a significant difference in viral loads)...

Another question:
What would be a good excuse to tell folks at work about being on chemio????. I do not want to disclose my HCV status at work (but I'm afraid is going to show thru TX).. My boss is gonna ask about it...Just telling him that's chemio won't help.. I cannot say liver or spleen cancer because mainstream spaniards do know about it. 2 famous singers have been on TV recently with it. One died in a year and the other one needed a transplant so they know is something too serious to be treated like INF & RIBA tx...
Is gotta be some form of illnes that's mild enough to allow you to work but grave enough to incapacitate you for several days.
Any ideas?
Shoot I don't want to be liar with my friends but I do know human nature and I would be treated like a lepper if I told them. I'm HOH and I need the job bad. :-(

for what ever it is worth I only told my boss, who I have a good relationship with, I just said I had a liver disease that I need to treat and that there maybe side effects but that only time would tell. He was cool enough not to ask anymore questions other then what my chances of being cured were.

I will say 25 weeks into 48 there are times I wanted to shout out load in the office leave me alone don't you know I am going through treatment, but then I realzie they don't know so some how I choke the words back down. The only people I told were my girlfriend, xwife and my daughter.

Like I said in another thread, I TOTALLY understand your fears of bieng reinfected. I personally am not taking any chances, especially hearing about the 2 and 3's relapsing so much latley after stopping tx.(i am a 2b, and very fearful of that) SO, my personal saftey routine is cheap disposable toothbrushes from the dollar store, and disposable razors...they aren't so bad compared to the ones they made back in the 80's...lol. Yellow BIC razors with one blade anyone??? OWEY! ( i had a bad experience with one of them..lol..cut my legs all to ***)Love to all and have a WONDERFUL blessed sx free day!!!!!

I checked a book from the library about Hepc. There was a chapter in the book about reinfecting yourself. Well let me re-word that. It said if you were a IV user with hepc to use always a new needle, because you were injecting the virus back in to yourself. It has been awhile since I read that book. So please excuse me, if I'm not real clear on this. It did say by doing this you were reinfecting your self with more of the virus.
