Post treatment / liver profile labs for new medication

hi community, not sure if I'm posting in the right community, but I'm hoping for opinions concerning a new drug my dermatologist has added.  Prescribed Lamisil 250 mg for 24 wks, (oral).  He is drawing liver profile labs every month. I guess I'm alittle worried since I just got rid of the virus in January, an this med. can possibly be rough on the liver. I have an extremely painful case of fungal nails for years. I'm not that vain, an would let them remove the nails permanently, but dr. Insists that I don't have to go to that extreme, an that Lamisil is extremely effective. I just want to be pain free when I wear shoes an walk.. I started the med. yesterday but since then, im becoming worried this was a mistake. Should I be worried in your opinion? He alo stopped cholesterol med. temporarily apparently because Lipitor an be rough on liver also. Can't help but think every time I swallow this pill, am I playing Russian roulette with my liver.  Any thoughts?  P.s.  GI. Dr. Gave approval...just don't know

im going to put this Lamisil on hold immediately till I educate myself better.  Both doctors don't seem to be too worried but honestly, they're human an it's not their damaged liver we're talking about.i just can't help thinking that having the virus at least since the early 90s had to compromise the liver at least some.  No biopsy since 90s so, who knows?  I think I'll go back to the plan of having the painful removed permanently, nail that is.  It's just too big a risk..normal nails again an possible disaster to my liver?? I think not. So thanks everyone for the input.  I wasn't sure if I was over reacting.. I did find an article that mentioned side affect of Steven Johnson Syndrome an toxic epidermis necrolysis concerning Lamictal.  Those two diagnosis have horrendous outcomes an after reading of the death rate an permanent disabilities, started getting worried about taking just two so far.  An for 24 wks? So thanks everyone for your input, helped me make the right decision..beating Hep C finally only to ruin my liver by some drug, would be a horrible mistake ..I've had a few things cut out of me thru surgeries so what's a couple toenails?  I still can't believe I just went along with this..

Mary:  You go, Girl!

I believe the combo is rigjt this time with the additin of the Ledisprevir, so Harvoni plus Riba shoulf do the trick.

PLUS, IMHO, they should have put you on 24 weeks Sol/Riba last time, since you had had previous failures.  Still, I am not a doctor, so what do I know.

This is doable!  We are here to help, to cheer you on, setc.

Get that Dragon!!!!  : -)

Have you looked in to laser treatment for the fungus. It is safe and effective if the toenail is not too thickened. Lames il is a tough drug on the liver.

I am guessing that they think the benefits outweigh the risks.
I just don't know, I am not a doctor but I do have a liver.
I looked it up and found this article from NIH and then another.
I would feel the same as you, afraid
