Will do..... I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
hellbound, have you been tested for cryoglobulins? It's fairly common with HCV......
Hi Pam,
If I remember correctly, cryo is dependant of HCV; in other words, treat the HCV, and you cure the cryo. I could be mistaken, but it seems I’ve heard that before. I’d be interested to hear how this resolves; let me know as you go forward,
Bill
After googling livedo, it sure sounds like that could be what causing those dime sized red areas
BTW, I did test positive for cryo last year, but have been basically aymptomatic as far as vasculitis. Dr. said we will look into it more after tx if it doesn't resolve. I'll push this one to the bottom of the crisis list for now anyway.
I forgot to mention; be sure the lab is up on taking samples for this; it requires special knowledge to draw and submit for cryo…

Have you discussed cryoglobulinemia with your doctor? It’s associated with chronic HCV.
“Cryoglobulinemia can lead to blood vessel, skin, and tissue damage - especially in the extremities -including vasculitis (blood vessel inflammation), Raynaud’s phenomenon (blood vessel spasms), livedo (red or purple marks on the skin due to restricted blood flow), hives, skin ulcers, and gangrene (tissue necrosis or death)”.

I also had / still get the little bruises mainly on my inner thighs. I think I am clenching my hands in my sleep cause they are there in the AM. I am SVR, March was my one year labs. My doctors have no clue either but all my bloodwork is normal. If you figure out something different please let us know.
Denise
I had them before and during treatment, but haven't a clue what causes them. Neither does my dr. so I don't know if it's related to HCV or not. I thought they might have been those spider angiomas, but they said 'no'. They don't hurt, but cosmetically they bug me. I'll get through tx then maybe check them out further.......
Please let me know if you find out anything about them. Thanks, Pam
