Oops, there is the problem 1.9 you are becoming a magnet for bacteria or have become resistant to the antibiotic you had taken from the last infection, if you really ever got over it. Watch and Wait to see where it goes and if it does get worse change antibiotics.

If it were me sitting there with fever, tightness in my chest and had an upper respiratory infection 7 weeks prior , I think I'd be getting checked out if there's any residual infection left. I don't know about us being resistant to such things, I had a nasty bronchial infection a few months back or so. I would rule out any underlying nasties and then treat symptoms if that's what you're left with.
Your ANC is probably on track or you'd have mentioned it, just keep an eye on that.
Hope you feel better soon.
Trish
Unfortunatly coconut oil does taste like coconut...but it's light and not sticky sweet like coconut candy. I mix it with vanilla whey powder drink and it is quite nice like that if I can drink it fast enough. Like most meds it isn't pleasant but if you try it for a week I am sure you will get results as it worked fast for me.
We laugh alot in my house and my cough was so bad that I couldn't laugh or breathe deep. I have no cough now...NP was a bit suprised that it went away like that. Let me know if you try it...I would like to know how fast it works for you.
Despite everything, the idea of partying sounds pretty good to me and I wish I could join them. Unfortunately, I'd end up like Bernie Lomax in the movie Weekend at Bernies. They'd have to prop me up somewhere and pretend I was actually alive. I still want to run with the big dogs but I'm stuck on the porch and at this point in my life I'll take the occasional pat on the head and a there..there...poor baby.
Did turn the heat on this weekend, first time all year. No new meds at this time.
I'm not drinking enough water and I know I should be more diligent about that. We have a built in humidifier on our heating system so I'm pretty sure that's ok.
Two Tylenol, big glass of water, half of Ambien and night night Trin.
Gator, if coconut oil tastes like coconut I couldn't stand the taste. Never have liked it but if it tasteless, I'll try it. I am certainly open for suggestions and thanks for the info.
Doesn't matter how bad I feel, I always get a boost from you.
Love ya
Trin
I had a cough for the first couple of months after I started tx...nothing worked till I tried the virgin coconut oil to take my riba in the morning and my cough went away.
Dear Trin,
You are my Rock of Gibraltar. When I complain I've had enough, I always think of you first.
I haven't been through this situation that you're in, but wanted to say hi, hugs and hope you're feeling better soon.
Earlier today, the site went down, saying that maintenance was being performed. Now that it's up again, I can't find the little search box I thought used to be within the hepc forum page itself (as different from the general Medhelp search box at the top of the page). Am I deluded? The reason I noticed is because I tried to do a search for some of the key words of your question to find old threads that might help you.
Wish more dudes that could weigh in usefully for you would stop partying on Saturday night and get back to forum business! Darn those guys out dating.
The fact that the cough is clear wouldn't signal bacterial. Any changes you've overlooked? Drinking less water? Could you have started a new medication, like an ace inhibitor which often has an associated cough like the one you describe (but no fever)? Did you turn off your air conditioning recently? (I'm not breathing as well now in the house because I turned off mine and turned on the heat, which usually gives me a dry cough.) Have you checked your house humidity level?
Anyway, I'm here.
xxooxxoo
Epi,
Thanks for the input. I just feel terrible and whiney today but justifibly so I think.
desert,
WBC is 1.9 - Didn't write down what my neuts were but I guess I could figure it out because my ANC is 1100. Little low.
I'm worn out most of the time anymore and I think my oil is low and I'm starting to knock and clank. I am going to the doc Monday. Thanks.
Trin
What are your WBC #s? Anti-biotics don't work that well if they don't have something to work with. My experience was I seemed more resistent to viral stuff on tx, but bacterial infections were harder to shake.
Please see your doctor.
Hi Trin! I can't say what your cough is from but I can say that every morning after my shot I have exactly the same thing, low grade fever and a cough. Sometimes it's a little flemmy, sometimes it's more asthmatic. One day I had a temp of 39C (102.2F) which freaked me out. I decided to take Panadol (Tylenol) and drink lots of water and if the fever didn't subside within a few hours I would go the Docs. A fever of that degree is going to make you feel bad, that's for sure. Fortunately with rest and fluids I felt better by the end of the day and didn't go the the Doc.
Since then, the cough and the fever have been regular features of my sx and people are always commenting on my 'nasty cough', but I tell them it's an added bonus that I get with the meds!
Hope you feel better soon, all the best!
Epi.
