Hi Carlos,
I don't know the answers to your question but someone might. I suggest that you start a new topic and ask this question again. Your question in this topic might get lost in the middle because it is someone else's question and people may not realize there is another question here.
I did the blood test and my result is greater than 1.00 and i don't have s/co but they said in my report it's considered to be rective and I have to redo the blood test again in 6-8 weeks .. Can any tell me because I'm really weary about it and can any one tell me from the starting rate of it and do I need treatment even if doesnt rective also do have to stop sex with my wife
Thank You very much for your guidance. God bless You!
Dont worry too much plenty of us are mothers who had no idea we had hepc at the time and gave birth to perfectly healthy babies. The chance of exposure IF she had the disease is very very low anyway - and it has not yet been determined that she has it.
She cannot do treatment while pregnant because it will cause horrible birth defects for the child. Those who do treat are asked to use two types of contraceptive while on the meds - it is that serious.
she hasnt been tested for active infection yet
You’re wife’s doctor will likely suggest for her to complete her pregnancy. The signal to cut off ratio (s/co) value of 1.19 is very low. She was probably never exposed to the HCV virus; these tests are subject to a degree of false-positive results.

(See table below)
Her doctor might suggest another test in six months to verify. Good luck with the new child-

First off... she can NOT do treatment during pregnancy... it is horrible for the baby.
Second... the virus takes a long time to damage the liver so you don't have to worry about doing anything TODAY. After the baby is born and your wife has gotten back in shape you can get a biopsy to see the condition of her liver. I was infected for 25 years and when I got my biopsy I was only grade 2 stage 2... so you can see that there is time to take care of everything.
