SVR at week 4,12,16 Genotype 3

I have passed 3 tests all show virus undetected. I am on my 17 week. I am having a very very hard time. I am on neopogen as well. My doctor mentioned that I might consider stopping early, stating that I have been virus free for 3 tests and considering new studies stopping at at week 18 maybe be ok. He said i would would only gain about 6 % if i continue to week 24. I also realize their is no guarantee i will remain virus free from week 18, but there is no guarantee that i will remain virus free after week 24 either. I know many of you will be insistent about continuing to week 24. but i am looking for info from anyone who has stopped early after week 16 with virus undetected and had a successful treatment and remain virus free.

I reduced my riba at week 19 (from 1200 to 800) and quit after 22 weeks of riba and 23 shots - I was successful. I know another 3e who had to stop at 16 weeks because of drops in WBC and HGB that epo and neup couldn't control - she was successful.
It sounds as though you and your doc have a good idea of the probabilities, pluses, and minuses. Your call on whether that 6% is worth the extra 6 weeks. You might also want to consider what your baseline viral load was and what stage liver damage you have.
Best of luck with your decision.

There are people that have treated for much shorter period then you and gotten their svr, it's rare though. You just have to weigh 6% which in my opinion is a very decent gain in possible svr against how badly treatment is going for you, only you can decide how much you can take. Does your doc say that your body can't take continuing? Are there dangerous side effects that can't be managed with helper drugs?

Good luck with whatever you decide, I hope you SVR
