Wild fires

This is not HCV related, but thought I'd share the following link for anyone interested in seeing what the wild fires in the Boundary Waters Canoe area which have been burning several thousand of acres of wilderness area in northern MN looks like close hand:

Despite fact we are in for a day of storms with many possibly severe (i.e. open up tornado alley for the day), none unfortunatley are targeted to reach this area which desperately needs it.

We had severe storms last night with hail and 80mph winds that lasted for HOURS and had no power until 7am today.  I was hoping I'd get to work and find no power on here...but no luck! ;)

Cool link thanks I am going to go and check it out.

Hi Angie
Praying for your son's protection and for you to have "perfect peace," which only can come from God. I'm sure your son will be fine.God will surround him with his angels. For your comfort, open your bible to Psalm 91 and read it as a prayer for your son.
Let us know when he returns.

What a brave, brave young man.  Of course I will say a prayer of safe keeping and THANKS that there are people like him in this world.  Also praying for you for the perfect peace from above (because I can't imagine being calm during any of this that is for sure!).

I think I know how you feel.

My nephew is half way through his tour in Iraq in one of the more hostile areas and my sister is always checking and re-checking caller id whenever the phone rings.  Fortunately, the folks serving on the ground over there have been able to establish internet access at their bases which helps keep the lines of communication flowing more freely than ever before.

It's a shame the terrorists had to step up actions against Israel, they surely must have known that the Israel's would not simply take it lying down.  So our service people and leaders have always in my prayer to follow His leading, and even more so in recent days.

Grand,
wow went to the web site you posted, unbelievable pictures.  I pray that the people who live in the area were able to get out.
Gold,
I am now adding your son to my list of young poeple that I continue to pray for who are serving for our country.  My nephew just got back from Korea and will go to Afghanistan in October.  Also as of Tuesday the 11th My 19 yr old son started boot camp in the Army in SC.  I am scared to death for him but so very proud of what he is doing.  :)  as a matter of fact today I got my first letter from him.

My prayers are with you and your son.  May the Angels stay with him and protect him.   My nephew just got back July 7th from being in IRAQ and S.Korea for 2 years.  He will be here for about six months and has told he will be sent back.  He is only 22.  He has been in for 3 years already.
