Protected sex / hepatitis c

I have been w/ a prostitute  for once more than 2 years ago, it was protected sex w condom. I had also a few handjobs when I had massages during last 2 year. I didnt have any symptoms whatsoever. Wife got pregnant recently and tested for bunch of stuff.
Her dr called  saying we need to go back for additional testing as her hepatisis c came weakly positive. It might be a false positive as well, we dont know yet.
I am not able to function since this happened, is it possible that I gave her this hepatisis c? I feel like i can not breath.

You don't say if you are HCV positive, or don't you know. The more I read in the scientific literature, the more I am convinced that transmission of HCV during routine, gentle sexual intercourse does not happen. When it appears to have occurred, further study always shows that here are other factors involved such as IDU, dialysis, anal sex involving blood and mucosal tissue damage. Thus, I think you can be sure that if you are HCV+ and your sexual relations with your wife have been "normal" (whatever that is), you have not passed the  virus to her. If, however, you are now or have in the past done intravenous drugs together and you are HCV+, then you might have some explaining to do. Get a PCR assay.

PS: I doubt a hand job could transmit HCV :-)

From what you describe there is no chance you gave her Hep C.

Make sure the additional testing is a PCR test to check if there is a viral load. This test will show for sure if she has it or don't. If the antibody was low it is most likely a false positive.

Perhaps you should avoid the sexual encounters outside of your marriage and you will not have this grief.

Best of luck
