Can you get Hepatitis C by this way?

Yesterday, I was holding with my bare hands the arms and abdomen of an aggressive patient with hepatitis C, It was an emergency situation, but now Im very worried about the chance of viral transmission. I didnt saw blood in the patient. Should I get tested later. Please Im worried and I hope to get good answers here. The situation lasted like 10 min.

As nygirl has already capably explained to you, you aren't going to get Hep C from physical contact.  It's a blood to bloodstream transmission method.  If Hep C was that easy to catch, all of us with Hep C would have to be wearing containment suits or be quarantined in case we rub up against someone.  Think about it.

If you're dealing with patients in some capacity, please spend some time learning about communicable diseases and transmission methods.  Good for you and good for your patients. If you understood more about the transmission methods of Hep C, it might have helped you be less concerned about this.  Maybe it's something you need to talk out with someone in a professional capacity so that you can get these kinds of risks into perspective on your job.  I'm sure that's something that others cope with also and I bet you're not alone and perhaps you just need to talk that out with someone you trust and someone who would understand.  Good luck with that.

Here is a good serious answer - HepC is only transmitted blood to blood, it is not like the flu you can't just breathe it in.  You did not get hepc from this person.

If however you are still concerned go to the doctor and get the simple blood test.  You could have been exposed in the past and never knew it - I can't guess at that.

are you in the medical field? I hope not because you should know the answer to this.

FYI, you can not get HCV from touching an infected person. It is a blood to blood disease.

This is a perfect example why our goverment has to put more money into educating the public !!!!
