What's your start date?

That is what a friend of mine told me when she was on tx, cold spells and hot flashes.
I'm into week 3 now and the shivering and shaking are becoming par for the course. This could be a long haul though. I'ts reasonably mild out west here. But I'm still cold and shakey.

I know what you mean about the snow. I am in South Louisiana and I have never seen a Christmas Card with people Caroling in the Mud.
Dark and cool is what you want, and if you can get it damp too. Tx dries your skin out, makes it very sensitive to heat and light. I'm thinking Seattle in the fall, winter and spring would be good. London would probably be good too.
toughluck yes im sure thats ruff but id really love to see snow once before i die lol other than on tv....its so pretty
I started treatment in March 2007 and my experience it didn't matter if it was hot or cold.
I was miserable most all the time and cold even in the heat of Tennesee summer. I stay wrapped in my heated blanket pretty much 24/7, except for the occasional heat flash.
Hope your experience is better than mine.

I got a rash and had to really be careful to stay out of the sun, use 50+ sunscreen and cover up with light excluding clothes. That was a real b****, especially as I love sunshine and outdoor stuff. So I think I would have been less miserable doing tx over a dark winter.

Hot weather was worse for me on tx. In fact I couldn't even stand hot weather even long before I started tx. What I didn't like is weather extremes, too hot or too cold. Guess I should have moved to Hawaii.
You work with cars, right? I think self-employed would be better as you can hopefully do your work on your good days, and you WILL have some, I promise :))))))) I couldn't work coz I was a music teacher with a very rigid schedule of 6 to 7 classes per day, 5 days per week. i inquired about part time during TX but was advised to stay out coz it was easier for the district to hire a long term sub. I didn't want to mess with my benefits and pension and I ended up qualifying for DB retirement. Once TX is over and SVR achieved, I will go back to work doing something, even if it's part time in the beginnin.
For the first 6 months of my TX I could count on Wed - Sat. as being more tolerable than the othr days. In my case, thpugh, there is no longer any schedule to the SX, probably coz I'm heading into month 14.
Don't feel sorry for me. Despite the whining, or maybe because of it, I'm almost done and i throroughly intend to finish!
You will find the forum very helpful to you, TL, when you're having one of those I-can't-stand-it-anymore days.

Sorry to hear that is why I am worried being self employed.
We got both storms, too. I've had to hire someone to dig me out coz I am very weak. Last year at this time, before TX, I was able to shovel my 30 by 10 foot driveway.
this year, after moving to a cottage, i could barely clear off a 5' by 5' porch before collapsing.
I'm on week 54 of 72.

I live in New England and have been in treatment since last spring. For me, it hasn't made a big difference one way or the other. I think everyone responds differently. In the end, Tx is a drag whether it is warm or cold outside.

I just shoveled and plowed two 1 foot snow storms in less than 1 week, I will bet that shovel is heavy on TX, this morning was -6' that is cold.
If the summer heat is the worst then me starting TX in February means 1 summer if only 48 weeks, being 1a could change that to more time.
Wow lucky you, what id give to live somewhere cold while on this treatment, sometimes when i just go to the store i have to leave there because i get so hot and sick feeling in there. I live down in Georgia, always hated the heat here lol. I should of been born a yankee from way up north lol. You will do just fine. ; )
My doctor will NOT start anyone on tx when it is hot, of course I live on the TN/ MS border an our summers get hot.. What he told me was that the heat makes the sx worse. I really don't know other than that. Hope this helps.

I don't remember WHERE i read this, but I did see a couple of articles that said starting TX in the Fall is easier than in the summer.
If I can locate it, I'll post the link.
I'm now up in your neck of the woods and the cold doesn't bother me at all. Of course, TX can and often does stink whatever your geographic location.
But you could be one of the lucky SX-free heppers.
