You’re welcome. After reading a couple of other posts, it seems you are currently in the diagnosis stage. This can be one of the most frustrating parts of this disease. I wish you luck with your upcoming viral load results as well as the ultrasound info. Although ultrasound is probably not the best tool to determine liver damage, it’s a beginning, and will help rule out extensive damage anyway. Hang in there, we’ve all been in your position—even if you do test positive for viral load, we have treatment available as an option. Many of us that are diagnosed with Hep C don’t have any recognized risk factors; some doctors are beginning to use the term “community acquired”.

The best thing you can do for yourself right now try to stay calm; the viral load test takes about 7-10 days for the lab to turn around, so you should have more info from your doctor soon. In the mean time, you might want to take a peak at this site:

Scroll down and click on a topic in the blue box; there is more info available there than most folks can stand :o).

Stay in touch, and let us know how things develop. In the mean time, take good care—
