Testing question, please help

A few years ago my boyfriend's mom was daignosed with hepatitis C.  Because of this, my boyfriend was tested by taking several vials of blood to make sure he didn't have it.  He said he was tested for a bunch of things, but he's not sure what for.  I'm not sure what to make of this, I don't know if they just tested his potassium/electrolyte levels and all that kind of stuff that they sometimes do in blood check-ups or if they tested for other diseases.  Does anyone know anything about this kind of testing?  Do you think they would have tested for HIV?

Normally, a patient has to ask to be tested for Hiv and Hep.  I believe these are NOT included in the normal blood tests.

The doctor who ordered the test for the bunch of things would have the results, in reprts, from the labs.  As a patient, your BF can request a copy of those results.  For some results the infor will be clear.  For other stuff on the reports it will need some an interpretation.  The doctor could help with this.
