Hi, my ALT and AST wer'e all in the 20's at 4 weeks. But my viral load was still a million from 6. My doc was discouraged, so of course I was. I called the help lines for all the drugs. Well treatment doesn't work for everyone!! Added victrelis and at week 12 undected! So don't give up it works different for everybody. Good Lucl!
Thanks, Karen and researchmonkey. Also, that is good to know about the enzymes jumping around so I won't get discouraged it they go up a bit.
Don't become concerned if they go up again during treatment. I had an immediate drop - my enzymes always hovered about the mid-40's and they dropped into the low 20's riight away. Then later, they jumped up over 100 and ALT as high as 158 at one point. By the end of the 24 weeks, they were back down to the 30's. You just don't know and cannot predict how your body is going to react through all of this. Good luck!
Great numbers! Your liver is loving the break! Yay! Karen :)
Thanks. I hope we all clear the virus.
I think any positive sign is good news! Hang in there your on the road to recovery.
yeah me too still waiting for my viral load at 6 weeks my alt and ast are in the 20's I hope for us both all God's grace in the world.
Thanks, Will. I am following the treatment protocol to the letter and I am very optimistic even though I have a few things against me (Genotype 1, VL 14,000,000, and overweight). I was encouraged by the drop in my ALT.
Enzymes going down, altho not the tell all,it is certainly a good sign....good luck on the 4 week PCR.
Will
