Regarding the genotype question... My husband had been infected by me a couple of years ago by a needle stick. Since he knew the exact minute that he got infected the doctor started him immediately on high dose therapy and he was undetected in a matter of weeks and in fact, he sero-converted. He definitely, originally had it though because he tested positive with a Geno of 1B. My genotype is a mixed virus, 2 strains, I have genotype 1A/1B. It's been very difficult to have me get to the point of an undetected status, but I am finally getting close.
I have a question for GI/PA: If someone was undetected for a couple of years, is it really medically even possible for their Hep C to be showing up at negative. Like for example, you go to the doctor's office and ask them to check you and see if you have Hep C and the test comes back as negative. My husband definitely had it before and now when his blood work is checked he comes back negative (according to him). I'm not so sure that I really trust what he says about 60% of the time and I did not see his latest lab report. Do you know of any studies on sero-conversion after previously testing positive, having a viral load, etc.? Susan400
Actually, I think everyone here is new since someone explained properly about the limited number of threads. While we are limited to 6 per day, if you click on post a question and then change your mind about using it, it is gone just as if you had. Same goes if you click on post a question and it does not load as fast as you might like and you click it again. You just used up 2 threads. If you click on it and decide to change your mind about using it, please title it like this one so it will be open to others.
Hope this helps.
Dave_B, I had to be on Neupogen weekly from week 8 till 48 as my counts tanked weekly. If you are able to get a Rx for it, you can get 10 vials of 300mcg/ml of it on Drugstore.com for $1,756 which works out to about $176 per vial.
I think she was saying doing drugs together as in needles? I know I did drugs with my sis fortunatly not the same needle that got me.
