Does my health would recover after having completed Pegasus 48 Treatment

Respected Sir, humbly it is stated that I am 27 years old & I am on combination therapy of Peg. Injection 180 once a week, with Ribazol 400 twice a day. Infected with HCV Geno 1a. Not detected in PCR when PCR conducted after 24.  I am today completed 44 injections and just about 4 of them to get rid of this long journey.. Now My humble request to your kind honor is that, Does my health would recover after completion of treatment or not? Because, I lost almost 16 kilos of weight, from 65 initially. So weak, can't sit on chair more then 1 hour. I need rest a lot. I can't eat well & most of time I prefer not to eat coz I don't feel hungry. I forcefully drink juices but still don't like to take them. I just want nothing but get rid of treatment. Would I be as healthy person as earlier? Would I be able to at least like eating.?

The people I have talked with who have done treatment have had no problems putting weight back on after treatment is completed.

I lost 70 pounds (32 kilograms) while on treatment. I would have been happy to have kept all of it off. However, after treatment, I gained 40 pounds (18 kilograms) back. Now I am  trying to lose it again.

48 week to 48 Centuries.
I just love the translation method you are using for Pakistani to English.

Hi there. Welcome to the forum.
It is very hard to put on weight after you have lost that much. I think the only thing that will help here, as I don't know your diet or what foods are available, will be protein drinks. You can buy them already made up, or get some powder and make shakes. Don't leave anything you usually eat out of your diet, just add these.
Also, water helps to flush these medicines out of your system. You should be trying to drink at least 3 litres a day.
Good luck.

It is good that you were not detected at 24 weeks of treatment. As you know, you will need another test at 48 weeks of treatment (end of treatment) and then another test 24 weeks after end of treatment (so about 7 months from now). That last test, 24 weeks after end of treatment, will determine if you are cured.

As far as feeling better, I think you will start to feel better after your last injection. It will take some time, several weeks, up to 6 months or more, to get back to normal. However, as time goes by and the medications wear off, you will gradually feel better day by day. Your appetite will come back, you will feel hungry again,  and you will gain your weight back. Most of us lose weight when on treatment, but we gain it back after finishing treatment. You will gain your strength back and won't feel so weak.

I did 48 weeks of treatment too and I felt better almost as soon as I stopped treatment. Gradually as the days and weeks passed, I felt better and better. After about 6 months, I was back to normal and, in fact, felt much better than before I treated. I was very tired before treatment. The tiredness went away after treatment. I do not feel tired anymore. It has been a year and a half since I finished treatment and I feel very good.

Best of luck.
