if I could do a treatment with Teleprevir Riba and Peg, I would add vitamin D but not necessarily Alinia.

Alinia has proved to be a big help on GT4 but on GT1 no real results that I have seen.

Nitazoxanide ia also known as Alinia (the brand name).  Over the past few years there have been many threads on the subject of "Alinia" and you should be able to do a medhelp search to find them.

"4w lead-in" is dosing of medication for 4 weeks before another ingredient (drug) is added.  The concept is not necessarily unique to treatment for hepatitis or the new HCV meds.  I think the reference to NTZ is Nitazoxanide.

For the record I'm not invested in VRTX, I just want to live. What is "a 4w lead-in" and "NTZ"?
thanks, Roy

I have a very limited frame of reference.  From that perspective a VRAD is a piece of AT&T equipment that is used to deliver their U-Verse service. It stands for Video Ready Access Device.  The reason I know this is beacuse they are installing the equipment in my neighborhood these days and I'll be glad when they are finished digging up the area.  If there is another meaning for VRAD I'm not sure what it is.

thanks for posting. This is a press release, crafted to have maximal impact on the stock price, so some  details are missing (like did a 4w lead-in help?) but these should be filled in when the AASLD abstracts are released in a couple of weeks. Overall, the news looks very good, particularly for relapsers. REALIZE3 was a big cohort with 662 and the ~ 85-90% SVR rate for relapsers from smaller earlier trials held up in this larger group. Also good was that  discontinuation rates seem very low - only 3 of the 662 quit because of rash if I'm reading it right. Throw  NTZ and a couple of other viral-suppressors into  the blender and it seems likely there's gonna be a big run on stilettos and thongs  in 2012. Better invest now.

"Add a hemopurifier and those rates would be like 135% "

In the 2% of patients who survived treatment. Please be accurate in the future.

I was reading some old posts from 2009 on hemopurifer. Is this the same as VRAD? Something the Japanese were reseaching, did anything become of it?

So take 50% of the first batch and then 65% of the second batch and odds are starting to look really good :)

Thank you big pharma.
