Has anyone tried Provigil?

I'm 6 months into treatment (about 1/2 way through) and am experiencing extreme fatigue. I am taking an anti-depressant and my Doctor is thinking I might benefit from this medication Provigil.  Has anyone tried this medication?  I would appreciate any information.

I think your Dr. is very empathetic if he's willing to prescribe something to help the fatigue. Flgal use to take provigil before tx, and her ins. company wouldn't pay for it when she started tx. (Her ins changed while she was on tx)
She loved provigil, and was really uspset that they tried to substitute with other drugs. It really helps some people, I guess try it and if it doesn't agree with you, don't take it anymore.
Good luck.

I tried them also and they did get me back on my feet. Only prob was that they triggered migraines so I had to stop. The headaches were pre-tx. jm

I was given Nuvigil, which if the new version of Provigil back in September. After I had gotten my hemoglobin straightened out with Procrit, I was still crawling to work each day. Doc said they not only help with fatigue, but brain fog as well. That may be true, but I was dealing with other issues at the time (tx related) that the 4 half pills I tried only served to keep me miserable for more hours in the day. By the time those sides abated, I felt pretty good and didn't see the need for them anymore. I still have 5 left just in case.

You need to take them very early in the morning in order to sleep at night...they're basically an upper if you ask me. Most Insurance companies won't cover them for HCV but you can ask you Dr. for a week's sample like I got and see how they work for you. I forget what each pill costs, but they are very spendy!
