3 shots left and i am done, thank GOD

last tuesday my nurse informed me i only have 3 shots left. i thought i had at least 7 , but the doc aint making up for the 4 shots i missed when she took me off tx, for 2 weeks in sept, then 2 weeks in december. she said, becuase i am a 3geno, and i am clear now, that it really wont make a diffrence. i feel really good since off the riba too. since i had 90% of my tx with the riba, she said it wont make any diffrence without it now. she tends to think i am going to be cured 100% if i am clear 6 months after tx.   these doctors are saying if you have a geno 2 or 3 you may only need 3 months tx in the near future. although, she said she has seen many people stay clear with geno 1 as well.  i am praying all goes well and i can put this behind me once and for all. although, i will always keep up a healthy lifestyle.  i went back to school last week and it feels really good, becuase i felt my future was very shaky from being diagnosed july 15 to december 7th when i found out i am clear. its been a really rough ride, but as crazy as it sounds, if i had to do it again i would no questions asked. the one question i can never get answered is, while you are clear, can hepC do any damage to you at all?  if any one can answer this please do. thanks everyone for all you help through my extreme paranoia at diagnosis through my entire rough ride through tx. i truly appreciate it. i am sure i would have had a nervous breakdown without all your support and advice. i hope your all doing great and rid this disease forever!!!!

congradulations bill, praise God your almost done. but are you sure you don't want to continue beyond what your dr. says and make sure you get in all your shots? i would insist on it or find a dr. that would let me. why go thru all that for it to come back if you haven't been on long enough? i don't know. that would be my feelings on it. i would'nt let my dr.call the shots. (no pun intended). but, in the end it should be your opinion that counts since your the one who takes the risk. not your dr.

i'm just starting month 5 out of 6. i am also 3a. my doctor(GI)wouldn't let me get my 12 week viral load checked(iwas so discouraged) but i am getting it done this week anyway(though be it late),through my general practioner. i am so encouraged that you are clear. despite missing shots. i am trying to get my doctor to o.k. extra weeks just to make sure i clear. but, the medicine has not been very hard on me though. best wishes to you. GOD BLESS, SANDI

Hello there,
Great news....you being undetectable at 12!  Well done!
I'm pretty sick of it too.....thinking about my health all the time, I mean......hep c has taken over my whole life!  And my mind!  But persevere, we must, so hang in there!
Sorry to hear you have to deal with other health issues on top of all this.....that really sux!  I can't begin to imagine what that must be like.  Hearing stories such as yours, gives me the kick up the ass I need to keep going, so thanks for sharing.
8 weeks to go.... on tx for you!  You can do it!
Love & hugs to you,
Louise

Mrbill - great news to hear you are getting so close to the end of TX.  It's been a rough ride and you deserve to be done with it!

Louise, I also worry about having to lower my tx.  I'm now on .5 dose of pegasys (I've been able to keep my Riba at 800).  I'll see the doc next week and talk about what to expect for the rest of tx (8 more weeks).  The good news is that I was undetectable at 12 weeks.  Now I'm working on getting hyperthyroid symptoms under control.  It's another whole illness to learn about and I'm having a hard time navigating all of the info.  There are opinions on all sides of the fence to consider.  Whew, I'm getting sick of thinking about me and my health!  Gotta' find another hobby :-). caruu

Hi there. Thanks for asking about me. I'm doing pretty well these days. I'm thinking that maybe after doing tx so long I've acclimated or habituated (or whatever the right word is) to this stuff. This is my 54th week and I will try and go till June 20th so you and I will be finishing about the same time. Hopefully we'll both get out of this trip clear for good. You sound like you're doing okay these days and that's about the best we can hope for. Hang in there Dallas cause there is a flicker of light at the end of this long and scary tunnel. Good luck. Mike

WOW!  3 shots left!  Well done you!  Hang in there!
Your words are soooo encouraging for me, Mrbill.  I have been going out of my mind with the worry of having my meds reduced, twice already,(due shot10, Mon am, finally got to double figures, 3a also) and I am told I will have to stay on 400mg Riba & 45 Pegintron for the rest of TX.
I know you have had some hard times....But you stuck with it! I admire your strength & sheer determination, enormously.
Carry on the good work!  It's nearly over!!!!!
Love & best wishes,
Louise
