please help .

I have had hepc for 13 years, failed 2 rounds of interferon treatment. I was on huge amounts of pain killers for 12 years.. I got off the medication as it was just becoming less and less affectiove, and started using milk thistle and other homeopathic remedies. well after about 2 years, they no longer help and I am in unbeleveable pain again. However doctors now say i should have a section of my liver cut out. ( pain management doc told me this ). my primary care doc said i have chronic pain and that such an operation would never be done ( liver resection ). so now what do i do ?  primary doc says pain management should prescribe meds for me , but they wont. ??? what can i do ? is there any medical papers supporting giving pain meds for hep c ?

That's a tough one. The liver doesn't like all those pain medicines. I'm surprised you had a script for it. Most Docs will not prescribe it when you have liver damage. What about a pain management class. The liver doesn't feel pain so where is the origin of it? Do you think you got hooked on them? Please listen to your primary care doc and don't let anyone cut into your liver unless they are an expert on HCV.
