The current treatment is a combination of interferon and ribavirin. Both are nasty medications. Prior to perscription and the decision to treat hep-c at all your doctor will do a bunch of blood tests to deterime the presence of hepatitis, the variety (geno type), you other medical conditions, other health concerns and possibly a biopsy of the liver to determine the extent of liver damage, if any. Getting to the point of treatment, or not, is a process that your doc (preferably a liver specialist) will work through together. Here is a website to get more information on hep-c (http://janis7hepc.com/), it's impacts and treatment. Most of the folks here are in some stage of treatment - start, middle, ending, ended so there is a lot of experience to draw on. But we are not docs
Ch eers!
Jamacia was jammin' mon. I have no braids but I look like a native, I am so dark. I was pasty white when I left. Traveling took a LOT out of me. Both coming and going, I had a 24 hour(at least) recovery from exhaustion and fever. We got home Monday nite. NEVER take Air Jamacia! The seats are so small! I had horrible back and bone pain for a day and a fever that went three degrees in each direction every hour for the whole 24 hrs. Weird. Today I am feeling good! Back to my ol' tired self. But I got up and played with my kitties and looked at the garden and the green pool. I think just thinking about all the stuff to do around here makes me tired!
My doc didn't let me take the neup, so I took Neulasta and had the bone pain. I didn't want to suffer, so I took the steriods for the bone pain and in 4 days I felt almost normal. It was great! I am now waiting for labs (haven't had any for over 2 weeks) to see where my numbers are.
I took a little ice chest with the frozen packs they send me the meds (those are great to keep for future use!) with my shots. I gave the chest and re-freeze packs to a jamacian woman that served at the pool before I left. She loved it!
Loved the trip, it was nice to have a change and relax (like I don't already!) but it's much different.
Glad to be back, I missed you guys! What have I missed? I can't read all these threads!
homemade chilie with mac and cheese and cornbread mmmmmmm.....
That green pool sounds inviting. While you were away everyone cleared and became svr, NYgirl gave up ice cream, Rocker ate at McDonalds and you're the only one on tx. Not much new. Glad you enjoyed some R&R.
i have to agree with goldyn...it must be Chili...hot hot
Chokecherry jam!!!!yummmm!! Good 'ol Saskatchewan!!!!
Chokecherry Jam? what tha heck is that?
The lime green pool is inviting! No pool parties here.
How exciting that everyone got SVR! WAAAAAA, I'm the only one on tx? That's just not fair! No one to commiserate with? NO ice cream? Rockers eating burgers? OMG! I guess I need to leave more often!
A tiny red berry with a pit that makes your mouth screw all up when eaten raw but makes the best jam, jelly, syrup and of course homemade chokecherry wine!!
A little Saskatchewan history for you. That area is know for the mining of potash - a major export of the province. In the old days the mining towns were inhabited mostly by men - the miners. To put it gently, men got lonely and there were no women-folk around. Chokeberry jam is not a food, it an ummm activity.
OMG , I cant believe I went down that path .Someone needs to have a talk with Morgaina.
I love chili too, but I can't eat hot chili AT ALL on tx. My tongue swells up and so do my lips. My mouth burns for hours. Horseradish is fine, but NO chilis. Anyone have this experience?
I thought it was true too! I think there is a chokeberry....
One of my favorite things to eat is , as we sayt in Tejas , meskin food. Its killing me because my tounge and gums are sooo sensitive it hurts for hours , not just from the spice , but the hot food. I love well made deep fried jalapenos. hmm umm. Have any good Jerk down in de island.
You've been very bad sying naughty things about good 'ol Saskatchewan history! There was tons of women around to make stuff with those horrible berries (which would lead on to other things, especially with the wine making) Pretty good try though!
Please do not take any offense, non was intended. But a real piece of truth...in addition to the jam and wine, the chokeberry is being evaulated as a medicinal ingredient. One of the possibilities, the liver.
Well I guess I learned something today.
How ya been?
Hahaha who wants homemade ch??? I have no clue how that got in there lmao, part of a cut & paste, i had ask a friend on line if she wanted some homemade cookies i had just baked....where the ch came from who knows lol.
