When Treatment is completed

To the group:
I end my treatment Sept. 19...As I have said before I think Treatment will have done its job.
However, I am concerned how long the afterglow of this ordeal last. I never hear about a speedy
finish to the sx after treatment is completed. Is there such a thing. Can you sometimes just feel better soon?
geno 2 24 weeks..

Honestly ----- wow..

Ok - honestly - I felt WORSE after TX... and it seemed to spiral downhill for about 3 months.

I was getting sicker (colds, etc.) and I had incredible pains.

About 1 year post TX my memory started working MUCH better.

Things started slowly coming back -- and I am at 99% about  year and a half.

I got diagnosed with Neuropathy and Fibromyalgia ---So I had some extra problems.

But once I got the proper medications to help out - I feel 1000000000000 times better.

And I am starting to feel incredibly well now.

I can walk for miles now - I can remember stuff...

My personality changed a lot during the TX and post TX --- but it was a life changing experience.

In 2 years for me --- I found out I had HCV - with no apparent risk factors --- and went through the Chemo for HCV --- had a hysterectomy - and a few other surgeries related to that area at the same time... and I also got divorced and bought my own condo...

So --- all in all --- almost 2 years later --- I feel tons better.

Each person is different.

But I totally caution you to not expect to feel better immediately - and to know that life is different AFTER TX --- don't expect it to go back the way it was prior to TX.

OK?

Super hugs to you!

I finished my tx on May 9th 08 and by two to three weeks I started to feel amazingly well.  The only thing I encountered was pronounced depression and pretty emotional so I started on an AD which I didn't take during tx.  I am now two mos into the AD and feel incredible.  I am 110 percent back to normal and better than before.  I am really really happy and feel really really great.  I welcome each day with enthusiasm.

Congratulations on your fast approaching completion date 9/19!!!!!!  It is a great feeling to finish.

Wishing you a quick recovery and newfound health and hapiness.

Congratulations, you're almost there.

I finished tx Aug 5.  Four weeks later I feel much better.  No more anemia, and my other blood levels are rebounding.  The brain fog is clearing (though you wouldn't know it from my typing) and I have energy for the first time in a year.  My hair is no longer falling out, I'm not dehyerated all the time, my skin returning to normal.  Sure, there's a few lingering sx (still sorting out my thyroid) and a bit of tx hangover but I'm getting back to normal.  Psychologically I got a real boost just knowing that I don't have to take any more meds.

I hope you feel as well, and soon.
