can you have fibrosis and liver disease without having hep c ?

can someone have both of thes nd not test positive for hep c.or can hep c lie dormant for years?i think i got it from my husband,and yes i use to always borrow his razor cause he buys the good blades...lol.thanks............

another thing i noticed when he had to give a urine speciman at dr office, my goofy husband filled the whole cup.lol.but my point is his urine was very dark.i think thats a sign something not good with the liver ?.............thanks everyone.ill have to get him to the dr.

I agree w/Susie.  Yes, there are many things that can cause liver damage.  Taking Tylenol in combination w/Alcohol is an example, morbid obesity people sometimes have such bad damage to their livers that they have cirrhosis and then, there's the things that Susie list above.

There are many liver diseases that cause fibrosis. Some of them are autoimmune hepatitis, alcoholic hep, primary biliary sclerosis, steatohepatitis and many more. Hepatitis C is not the only thing that causes fibrosis.
