They gave me the results back from the last blood test... still negative.. and they told me they didn't need to test me anymore because the test is pretty much set in stone... should I still worry?
Go at the 6 month point and then you can be sure, and forget it ever happened if it is negative. I know the anxiety is rough, but waiting is part of life with this disease.
So should I just go again if it comes back negative in 2 months? I'm in anxiety hell right now worrying and bothering myself with this whole hepatitis C fear... :(
This is what the U.S. CDC has to say regarding your question:
http://www.cdc.gov/hepatitis/HCV/HCVfaq.htm#section3
How soon after exposure to HCV can anti-HCV be detected?
HCV infection can be detected by anti-HCV screening tests (enzyme immunoassay) 4–10 weeks after infection. Anti-HCV can be detected in >97% of persons by 6 months after exposure.
