Woke up with black eye this morning

Went to bed last night everything was fine, woke up this morning with a black eye. It doesn't hurt like I was hit, but it sure looks bad. Im taking daily  shots of infergen and 1000mg of riba. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? It looks like a blood vessel broke. Thank you Joemc

If it does not go away after a few days, you might want to see an eye specialist to make sure everything is fine with your eye. In some rare cases Interferon/ribavirin Tx can damage the eyes.

I looked like a hippo crack addict zombie with Bozo the Clown hair and the darkest circles under my eyes... like pitiless pools of that grease smear baseball players use or something like that....

LOL

The sad part about that is that it's true.

However - that being said - never heard of a SINGLE black eye.

Methinks you may have had an accident or injury or popped yourself while sleeping...

NEVERTHELESS --- on this TX a lot of strange things can and DO happen - so run it past your health care professional.

Hugs --- Hope you don't hit yourself in the other eye to even it out.

How are your platelets holding up? Do you have specimen results from your last set of labs? Low platelets (thrombocytopenia) can result in unexplained/ pronounced bruising, and shouldn’t be ignored. They also affect blood clotting. If it were me, I’d call my treating doctor and at least get this on record; he might want to review your previous labs.

Good luck-

I am on infergen also, I find I rub my eyes a lot! Possible in your sleep you mauled yourself?

I have also read that occasionaly a vessel will pop  on tx,  or not on it,  rupture vessels in the eye is not that un common.

Maybe just to be safe you should get to Optometrist.

How you coping with infergen?  There seem to be a few more of us popping up.

Let us know what you find out.
