I am a new guy, but congrats to you. Retirement doesn't sound too bad if it's affordable. Good luck to you.

Okay, Virgo, so what's with the Bill1954?  Why is that all us gals are in his fan club? Is it really just because he's so good in posts? :)

What a two-sided coin, to be laid off but to have those retirement benefits about to come in. If you can live on your benefits, I bet you'll rise to the challenge of changing your spending habits fast and effectively, if the benefits aren't too meagre.

My bro lives on next to nothing but has a better quality of life now than when he was a high roller. Now he buys huge bags of rice instead of tins of fancy wild rice blends. It's amazing (sometimes awful, sometimes surprising) to look at spending in a new light.

Congrats on that nine month confirmation of your hard-earned success. That's what you bring to your new retirement life, your clinical cure with so much to look forward to.

Best wishes,

Not Bill

OH jez Virgo at least you can get those retirement benefits shortly that is some sort of major miracle at least right?  You have a GREAT OUTLOOK - you always have so I think a big deal of how well you do is that you refuse to let this stuff get you down.  That makes you a winner and you know it.  I'm glad you will be ok.  Sad you are out of your job but VERY glad you are SVR  :)

Keep up the winning attitude - it will always carry you far!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Ms. Virgocharm,

I’m sorry to hear you got laid off; for what it’s worth, you have plenty of company right now. Unfortunately, I think Detroit has a relatively high unemployment rate; it’s great you’ll be getting retirement benefits soon.

Congratulations on your treatment success; and thanks again for checking back in—
