spleen 7cm mass

HI MY NAME IS PATSY,
I started feeling not good in the summer ,so went to the doctors ,they did alot of test ,and cat scans ,my heart is good and etc,, but upon ca scan found a 7 cm cyst or mass.on  spleen  a month ago went to have the cyst drained filled back up over nite ,form another cat scan they did becasue i got sick ,, wel since then went to a surgeon with all the cat scans of the spleen which there alot done ,,
  he said from veiving it and all and how i feel ,the pressure near lung and the pain ,need to be removed ,, he wont do it thru navel going to have to open up ,, becaue of where it is i uess ,, i hope iam doing the right move,becasue i would like o fell better and also not have tis pain ,,they said it was rare to have a mass on the spleen ,,they tested the fluids form when theyb drained it and came back ok ,becasue i had been to mexico ,etc, before ..when they had drained it ,, the surgeon said they should of never drained it because they should of knew it woulf feel back up .. just need some input pleaae ,, going to have the shots in a few days then have to wait 2 weeks for surgey ,, any feed back would be nice ,, i know the surgeon is a top notch surgeon also for concord hosptial..
   not sure why the cyst is there ,,but its not from a trama ,,and i dont believe its been there that long for me to feel the way i do at times ,, some times iamok ,but when iam not iam not ..
i seen the pictures of the spleen the syst almost covers the whol spllen ,, would this cause all these problems ??

these are very specific questions that are best answered by a specialist. Pin your doctor down for answers or get a second opinion.
This forum has no physicians monitoring the questions but the gastro forum does, you might want to try it. This forum is patient to patient and mostly hep c related.

Mattie read your comment from back on the 1st yes I do not spend much time here anymore but I do check in every once in a while to see how all are doingThe time sure flies and I am extremely happy that your hubby is coming along . great news for sure you two are still in my prayers as are others I have become cyberfriends with.
But time marches on and I find that 9 months plus off tx has really found me feeling much better and geting more energenic.I have even stared working again cause I was getting too bored
I am actively promoting and selling electronic goodies to the home market for the company that I sold my business to
No travelling out of province yet, but that will come
Visited north bay for a little hard water fishing after new years eve but that about all the travelling so far.

Is what you call a cyst sometimes called a tumor?

The reason I ask is that the spleen is sometimes involved in a chemical's harm that causes tumors throughout the body.  It damages the liver and kidneys, sometimes, too. Here is an overview of what it does to people http://home.gci.net/~blessing/pages/cfs_overview.htm

The spleen, I believe, is working overtime and is sometimes enlarged in an acute attack of 2-butoxyethanol over-exposure because the red blood cells are dying off too early.

You would have other symptoms, too, though, like fatigue and like depression, grouchiness, short term memory loss ... etc ... etc
