cleansing after tx.

Some woman at the local health food store here want me to go through things to cleanse the tx drugs out of me. Acupunture and other things I can't remember now.
But is this a good idea ?  Am i supposed to try and remove all these drugs as soon as I am done or are they supossed to stay in me and continue looking for hcv till they leave on their own.
The back of ny legs, the calf muscles have turned to leather and itch the heck out of me.  And I noticed small little bumps under the skin but they could have always been there.
With just 4 weeks left of treatment I am getting very anxious about getting my brain back.  I am holding off on booking a trip to Baja Cali. for hiking and driving the length.
Where am I?

This thread is from 2006, Algernon last post was in 2007, so I think it would be safe to say she probably wont be answering you.

Welcome to the group, if you stay on the main page the most recent threads are there, if you have a question go to the top of the page and use the orange post a question button and it will start a new thread.

Have a great day

Hi Algernon! Hi five to you too!..If you don't mind my asking-how long have you been finished and especially-how do you feel now?! Are you still cleared?! What was your course?--I finished Incivek/r/intf. one week ago..and still feel bad (maybe even a little worse?!) Bad headaches, nausea, insomnia, metallic taste and the infernal dry mouth (I actually broke a tooth during this nightmare, among many other things-like everyone else). I literally guzzle water every waking moment, which seems to make the most sense in flushing poison out of the cells. Thank you and good health!! Your kind words to each other,  honesty and encouragement are so important (they got me through this as well, even though I was amazed that anyone could even write and so painfully eloquent as well; it seemed like I had just enough energy to go from bed to couch to bed-you're amazing folks!! )God bless you all who are living the pain and happy futures to all!

Amicraxy: Aligie's advice seems sound to me. You might also want to refer to the advice I posted for oldbaldguy a few threads down. Could be some help there :)

The one thing I recommend is to continue with the heavy hydration.  I couldn't wait to give up the "heavy drinking" but I think I felt better when I drank more water in the first 12 weeks post TX.  You won't feel as thirsty after a few weeks but the water helps to cleanse the system.

I can't imagine there's a problem with acupuncture--whether it will help or not is anyone's guess.

Just stopping the drugs helps the most!  Congrats on having the finish line in sight.  Algie.
