Is it really true you can contract hepatitis C from sharing dollar bills to snort coccaine?

This is the only real possible way I could have gotten it in the 80s - and I did.  I know in fact that many of the people I associated with had hep as they were IVdrug users (something I was not at the time) and it seems logical since I was a fiend that that is the way it was passed.

All it takes is a microdroplet of blood - and people who snort drugs don't have the very best nasal passages.

Only place I could have got mine was a shared straw or bill.  I had no other way of getting it.

i got hepc from transfusion, but any blood contact with nasal mucosa can let hepc in. Any blood to blood contact. You cant get it from hugging or sharing a soda, or eating off someones plate, but if you use someones toothbrush, or share dollar bills doing illicit drugs, you sure can. Hope this answers your questions.

Hi,
I am not sure exactly how I got it, but I just found out that a person who was in the crowd I hung out with in my cocaine snortin yrs., also has hepc. We shared straws a bunch of times...could be...
