Can I have Symptoms with Normal ALT and AST and almost no damage to liver

I have Hep C. My ALT and ASt are within the normal range. My liver is ok. I have done all the test possible trying to find what was wrong with me and like a month ago found out I had Hep C. My question is can I have everything ok and have so many symptoms, fatigue, itchiness, loose stool, brain fog, pain in liver area, pain everywhere (it comes and goes), tingling and numdness in arms and legs, eye problems, etc.

My viral load is in the 6 million. Can I have all these symptoms and have no damage to my liver and everything else around normal.

Because Also I have a thyroid nodule but all my blood tests for Thyroid problems come back normal and the nodule is benign. So I have a dilemma since all the symptoms are so alike for the nodule and the Hep C.

I was asymptomatic..normal blood work, no scarring, good bx, tons of energy, clear headed, ..then decided on tx after 6 yrs of monitoring (no abnormal increases, etc.) I have probably had HCV since the early 70's. I am 55 so decided on tx, as I figure I wouldn't be any healthier than I am now. Another factor was my brother (3 yrs my senior) passed from complications of HCV and alcoholism (2004). I have been sober for almost 20 years. Everyone is different. Some folks expire from old age before the virus flares up to be a problem. It is a progressive disease and effects folks differently.

yes you can have the symptoms you describe and have no or little liver damage. the sure way to see what liver damage you have is a biopsy or at least a fibrosure blood test or fibroscan but the fibroscan is only available in a few locations in the usa. best of luck
