Hi:-)
Just thought I'd jump on board to encourage you. Think you've really gotten good feedback here, spot on in fact! I'd put money on spinal pain, with 7 disc herniations, radiating R/L pain is my NOT best friend, however, physical therapy helped me with NO pain meds at all. See an ortho, get an MRI, check for this. Just MHO
Lotsa luck, pain does stink, for sure!
Prayers for speedy recovery from all & blessings

Did you ever think that maybe it can be a spinal issue. Have you ever hurt your back?  Sounds like it can also be lumbar spine problem. I do have spine issues , if its a nerve being impinged it can make the whole are hurt. Just another suggestion.

The liver doesn't have pain as stated above. The ultrasound will not explain your pain. If I took a wild guess I'd say you have a kidney infection of sorts. I'd say you are dehydrated and or constipated. Does this sound right? Drink water all day long. That may help eliminate pain.
Avoid pain pills. The liver doesn't like them.

Well there you have it. Said all in a nutshell. The liver sits up under the right ribcage and not below your waist. Something else is going on.

As you have Hep C with liver damage you need to be under the care of a hepatologist associated with a liver transplant center they are best equipped to answer your questions and provide care recommendations.

There are brand new treatments for hep c one being Harvoni. One pill a day for either 12 or 24 weeks ad you have liver damage and be cured of hep c so you can put a stop to any additional liver damage.

This is the recommendation for patients with cirrhosis:

People with cirrhosis who take acetaminophen (sample brand name: Tylenol) should not take more than 2,000 milligrams per day (four extra-strength tablets). Many over-the-counter and prescription medications to treat cold and flu, fever, pain, and other common maladies contain acetaminophen, so it’s important to check the labels of any medications for acetaminophen as an ingredient and to add up the milligrams they each contain.

Other pain meds are more dangerous with advanced liver disease due to the risk of bleeding from enlarged blood vessels such as esophageal varicies.

But always best to go with you doctors recommendations.

Good luck

There are so many health conditions that can be causing this.   It could be as simple as not drinking enough water to kidney issues etc. etc. etc.   Seeing your doctor to find out what is causing you pain would be beneficial.  Then
you can get the pain relief your looking for.   Many come to this site pointing thier finger at Hepatitis C being the cause and causing current pain.   I have personal had a kidney stone....painful.    Gallbladder attack.....painful.  Not drinking enough water....can be painful.  Infection in my body.....painful.
Acid reflex.........painful.   Extreme lower back pain from picking something up wrong (could be a piece of paper on the floor).....painful.   And Hepatitis C......
..........which wasn't physically painful.

I sure that you are feeling pain and looking for relief but who know what is causing your pain.  Make an appointment with your doctor and find out exactly what is causing you pain.   Keep going back till you know.

I hope this helps

I am NOT a doctor, so I am not diagnosing, BUT the liver has no nerve endings and is above the waist, which makes me womder if they have checked you for appendix problems.

Do you still have an appendix?

Might want to check it out with your family Dr.

Others might have other info/suggestions as this is a very knowledgeable, caring community.

Good luck!  And welcome to the Forum.
