do i need to be retested?

Last year i got tested for hep c and the test came back positive. I am a recovering addict and I am sure that have been exposed at one point or another , however when I was tested to find out what type i have the test said it was undetectable. When I called the dr's office to discuss my results I was told i didn't need to keep my appointment because there was nothing to treat.Do I need to get retested ? Where do I go from here?

do you know how sensitive the viral load test you had?

Yes, it most likely means your body fought off the virus on it's own. However, I would havde another viral load test after 6 months, just to be sure that there isn't a mistake or a viral load too low to be measured.

You should ask for copies of those blood tests and then hang on to them.

This means you have the antibodies which means you were exposed at one time but were able to fight the virrus off. By being undetected this is what the DR. is telling you. No Viral load no virus.

hmm... were you tested positive for the antibodies only?  or the viral load pcr?  if you have the virus, then there is something to tx.  however, if you only have the antibodies, means you've been exposed but was able to fight it off on your own.
