Thanks Surfside ;) just did the viral load test today!! So viral load at 55 days , one day from 8 weeks , should have results by Tuesday
Six weeks is not enough. The average patient takes 11 weeks to show antibodies. To be perfectly safe, an antibody test should be repeated at 6 months. A viral load test at 3 weeks is fairly conclusive.
thank you for the responses and yes I feel fortunate that so far tests show negative as it was a hep panel test that read negative I just didn't understand the lituature that was explained under it, I threw out the paperwork but it explained something as far as 0 index just wasn't sure. Does 6 weeks have any input or is it way to early it was unprotected sex with female during her menstral period...She just started her treatment yesterday as she has recently been diagnosed
The test is still negative regardless of the context of the word index.
Your test have all been negative, you show NO indication of having contracted HCV, if you can't accept that fact may I suggest seeking help for anxiety.
Have a great day
I think it is the word "index" that is confusing. I have not seen that on a lab report.
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/negative
"negative" : not affirming the presence of a condition, substance, or organism suspected to be present; also : having a test result indicating the absence especially of a condition, substance, or organism
Please post the name of the test and exactly what your lab report said
Was this a hep c antibody test, a Viral load test, or a genotype test?
