I spoke to Gilead pharmacist and he told me it would be appvd on Friday October 10th and would be available in pharmacies in his words "just a handful of days".... Went to my Hepa today and he in fact confirmed it would be this Friday as well....he already knew about it,..so it sounds pretty encouraging Army...by the way THX for serving our country

Ferritin isn't high because of ETOH, because I quit drinking awhile back; so I undergoing phlebotomies weekly. 500 cc/session. I've only got 5000 in me!. Have undergone 4 so far. Got drawn for ferritin level today before undergoing my 5th draw this Thursday. Glad I got good veins. Am anxiously waiting for FDA ruling on Sol/Ledi this Friday!!!!!
Sounds like a good choice. I, too, treat w/an infectious disease Dr and like how he thinks. The Fact that you are F-1 is good, as you have the time to wait.
Good Luck and hang in there - we are closer than we have ever been before!

update----finally saw my infectious disease doc. We decided to wait a while on treatment, until we see how sovaldi and ledipasvir pan out. He said that since I only have Grade 1 fibrosis on my liver biopsy (after having hep C for 40 yrs), and am non-symptomatic, he feels that waiting for treatment is the way to go. He doesn't want to treat me with Sovaldi and simeprevir; and certainly not with peginter.
So, we will wait. I have very high ferritin, so I'm working with another doc on that; in fact, I have a blood draw for that today, and an appt with her on Thurs. Will see what's up with that !
Just a heads up about the Ledipasvir
The new med coming will be a single pill combo of Sovaldi & Ledipasvir. It is supposed to be FDA approved on October 10th and should be available to be prescribed a month or two after that. Takes a few to get the machinery of a new drug release into motion.
Good luck on treatment

wow, thanks a million for that corrected spelling. So, I am treatment naive. This new drug looks very favorable for me. 12 wk w/riba gave 100%svr. I'm glad my doc is up to par with this new info. Of course, the FDA will need to approve this, then the VA will have to approve pymt to them for me. I'm just going to play the wait game..I'm non symptomatic as I mentioned before.
Do you mean Ledipasvir here is some info on that
