I lost 75% of my hair during treatment, some fell out during the first weeks after I completed treatment, too.
Happily, it all grew back.
Yours will too !

I feel your pain. I finished treatment in April and my hair is just starting to fill in. I lost more than 50%. Like the others it was just unbelievable. I thought of it as the last slap in the face from treatment. I tried all the different shampoos, vitamins and anything else I could find. I really don't think any of it worked. My dermatologist, who followed me through treatment, kept saying I had to wait it out. I'm sorry you are going through this. Hang in there. You can do it!

Hi I should have mentioned that while taking Biotin is good for the hair you need to have the other b-vitamins as well or you can cause an imbalance.
Here is an article about the Omega 3's and how it can help your hair.

I became obsessed about my hair loss.  I lost so much...it was every where, I kept trying to find a magic pill that would help me.  There wasn't one. You may just have diffuse thinning like I did the first time.  the second time I lost about 80% of it, I think the Incivek added to it.

Hi there, the tx really dried all of my hair out, even the hair that started out good. So, then I had hair breaking off. If I had been smarter I would have purchased a silk or satin pillow case.
Also there is a good oil that has no mineral oils you could use on your scalp, it is calle African Oil 6.  It used to have 9 oils.  Anyway, it helped a friend of mine who had cracked skin and she used it on her scalp as well.

If your hair is going to fall out there is not a lot you can do.  You can try biotin, and omega 3 oils however the tx affects our hair, nails skin.  I tried Nioxin, not sure it really helped much, it has menthol in it so might irritate your scalp.

This is not a lot of comfort but it will grow back. I am now 18 months post tx and my hair is growing back thicker than it has been in years.  I have a lot of curls and waves, I started out with straight thin hair.

Check with your doctor to see what he says, most of them act as if it doesn't happen or it is rare, it is not rare, it does happen and it does matter. :)
Good luck Dee

Hi there. I washed my hair everyday because I swam in a pool, while treating.
The problem becomes regrowth as this process slows way down on these toxic meds.
Satin pillowcases reduces friction. As others posted, don't fuss with your hair too much.
My loss was about 30% so everyone is different.
Don't worry too much and keep your eye on the prize.
Also, just clean up the hair that ends up on the floor, so you're not thinking about it too much.
Wishing you the best,
C

Yeah, mine was like that also, during my Treatment. I was just like his3707, I kept running my hands thru it, and 10 or 12 strands would come out. It was a very sad feeling, because I couldn't control it.
I only washed it once a week, as I would notice so many hairs in the tub.
Once my Treatment weas over, I bought a form of vitamin B called Biotin, which helped it thicken back up, I believe.  My new hair came in with spiral curls in the back, I am amazed by it...I always had the strightest hair before, and my new curly hair is fun.  Most of us on here did suffer some hair loss, unfortunately.

I lost at least 50% of my hair.  It was more like a shedding.  I did not wash or brush it a lot.  At first it was weird and I couldnt help but run my hand through my hair to see all this hair come out with the folicle attached.  I had to stop doing that.  Nothing you can do will keep it from falling out.  But I wouldnt suggest a lot of brushing and pulling on it.  mine seemed to let go faster.  I just bought time by putting it in a loose pony tail and leaving it alone.  I did get it cut short as I could and still pull it back.  I am 17 months post treatment and I finally feel it is back to how it was pre-treatment . However, Everybody is different.  No one really noticed but me.
