I am over 1 1/2 years post hep c tx and am UND still. I am now on prozac for the second time in my adult life. This time around because my husband is dying from Hodgkins Lymphoma and is at the last stages.
When I was on HepC I also took Prozac, it did not cause (me) and more damage on my liver. Although, I know that Lexapro is milder on the liver. I was put on this for awhile when first dealing with my hubby. I did not like the feeling or lack of feeling on the drug. So, I asked my doctor to put me back on Prozac. Lexapro may do well for you, you may ask your doctor. I would guess that it would matter on some people depending on the Grade and Stage your liver is.
Just a thought to give you. Good Luck

Thanks for your quick response. I'm not really worried or frightened.Just trying to educate myself.
I am on treatment and I take Prozac. It was prescribed to me by my liver doc. As far as I know it has not interfered with my liver as all my liver tests are coming back normal and I am currently UND. I couldn't do my treatment without it, I think it's a lifesaver!
All the best :)
The patient information leaflet for virtaully every drug in the world says do not take if liver disease present.
The natural conclusion is that no Hep C patient can therefore take any medication of any kind.
As far as I am aware the medications menioned are perfectly safe and you should both stop worrying.
Same as above.I started Prozac I take percocet for R.A.& I take 1 xanax at night for sleep.I can't believe this won't hurt my liver.I have to take these drugs for a good quality of life.So what do you all thin?
