Hi there.... no one other than a doctor can tell you what is the cause of  the "swollen lymph nodes" however viral infections can have that effect and studies have shown in a small percentage  this condition could correlate with having HCV.
You say you had these swollen nodes about 4 months ago and you DR. could not figure it out. I f you still have these swollen nodes  even tho they  may be nothing at all to be concerned with ,it would be a good idea to get to the bottom of what is the cause  by a specialist as suggested above.

Good luck..and welcome

Will

It's not easy to hear that you have Hep C, but the way I look at it...it could have been something worse. Like jonjara said, there is good news, there are treatments out there, and others like Telaprevir will soon be available and with promising results.

I had a blood transfusion in 1978 and was diagnosed in 1992 when almost nothing was known of the Hep C virus. I went through the interferon/ribivibrin treatment in 2004, but 6 months after I finished it came back. Now I am on the TMC 435 Study. Yes, I feel miserable at times, but I know I have to do it to get my health back. You have just been diagnosed, you have options, and there are a few out there. Go to a Hepatologist, do your re-search, there are studies for people who just like you have been diagnosed for the first time, go for it.

I am not going to tell you that it's an easy journey because it is not. The good thing is that so much more is known about Hep C, that you can probably beat it before you know it, and not have to go through the uncertainty of what it is, and what to do, like it has been for so many of us.

About the nodules, you have to have it checked by a specialist, the sooner the better, so you can focus your research and your future treatment on the Hep C.

Good luck.
