I felt better the first day, but I think it took about three days until I felt it was totally gone. It also took a little while for my hemo to go backup, which they say happens slowly after incevik in about 80 percent of us. Joe

Eight years ago I did the 48 weeks of SOC treatment using Pegasys interferon and generic ribavirin and it wasn't all that bad.  Aches and pains and  a short fuse for contrary people but beyond that I was fine.  When I got to 48 weeks I asked my doc if I could go another few months "just to be sure" but he was a real "by the book" guy and he refused.

Now it may be worse due to the addittion of anti-virals Incevik or Victrelis. I responded partially (with a "breakthrough @ 24 weeks) then relapsed afterwards so now I'm considering re treatment.

I am getting ready to start hep-c treatment, I am scared. How bad does triple treatment [incevik, interferon, riba] make you sick? Will I be able to work?

Elimination

"Following administration of a single oral dose of 750 mg 14C-telaprevir in healthy subjects, 90% of total radioactivity was recovered in feces, urine and expired air within 96 hours post-dose. The median recovery of the administered radioactive dose was approximately 82% in the feces, 9% in exhaled air and 1% in urine. The contribution of unchanged 14C-telaprevir and the R-diastereomer of telaprevir towards total radioactivity recovered in feces was 31.9% and 18.8%, respectively. After oral administration, the apparent total clearance (Cl/F) was estimated to be 32.4 L/h with an inter-individual variability of 27.2%.  The mean elimination half-life after single-dose oral administration of telaprevir 750 mg typically ranged from about 4.0 to 4.7 hours. At steady state, theeffective half-life is about 9 to 11 hours".

You should notice your smell and taste return the next day, mine did. Also 24hrs after being off it I actually was wanting real food, without being turned off just by the thought of it.That alone is big for me because I know I was not eating  healthy. The only other tangible incivek trait from the beginning was the butt issues, believe that will take time although in almost a week have not been bothered by it.I didn't have incivek rash , although in my last week did develope a rash with bad itching, oddly enough alot of it on my hands and still have it.My labs haven't shown improvement because still getting same amount of shots for blood vaues but maybe hgb will increase over more time. Its not everything I was hoping for yet, but it does seem to leave your system rather fast. Its a start to feeling better. Good Luck
