Yes, the plan is to do another one at 4 weeks. I'm hoping for UND.
Thanks for the encouragement. It's great to feel so positive about this thing after all of the time I've felt so down.
I CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keep up the good work Diane, popping those pills and doing those shots and you will be just fine.

Awesome!!! Glad to hear you have gotten off to a great start.
I also had my first PCR done early...at just 7 days, but then again, I'm not known for my patience, lol!!
Great points made above. While VL isn't a predictor of damage, VL response to tx is a good predictor of success. I'd push to get another drawn at 4 and 12 weeks. If they balk at that....insist on the 12 week one.
Keep on keeping on, Diane!!! Yay for You!!!

Great news!! I am happy for you. Keep feeling well, drink lots of water and let us know about the next test. Happy to hear they are testing you on a regular basis. My recent doctor who I have found laid out the plan for me when I start and she also wants to check often. When your next blood draw?
Also looking forward to seeing your 4 wk. VL if you had such a great drop in just 2 weeks. You should be feeling very, very encouraged. You are responsive to interferon. You're right that VL has no meaning about virulence of your virus, but it is a great indicator of eradication from the blood by interferon. Way to go.
Diane you are right that is great news and you are responding wonderfully! You just keep it up now and kick the rest of them in the butt like you are and you've got it made!
I can't wait to see your 4 week PCR! How exciting, see there are indeed fun parts of treatment and you've just found one. The I'm UND thread is probably the best part until you get to I"M SVR then you really will be dancing on the moon!
Congrats just great keep it going!!!!!!
That is indeed encouraging. You have achieved a 1.72 log reduction in viral load; with conventional therapy, a 2 log reduction at 12 weeks is required. This tells us the virus is responding to your enhanced immune surveillance. Now, the critical part is disabling the remaining virus; these tend to be a little more resilient than the ones you’ve already defeated.
Will they test you again at four weeks, or at twelve weeks?
Good luck as you move forward, and continue to keep informed,
--Bill
