insulin and hep c flare up

I have had hep c for 25 years, Just recently I was put on injection of insulin for my diabetes...since being put on insulin (2 weeks) I have experienced gastro problems, extreme gas, a pain right below where my rib cage ends and nausea and vomiting (every other day)  This morning after a bad night of pain and nausea I noticed that my stool is clay colored, very light in color ( not as bad as when I first got the bout of Hep C 25 years ago my stool was the color of a sheet of paper)  Could insulin be causing my hep c to flare up or maybe this is just a natural progression of the disease.  I have never been on treatment for the Hep C, but now my blood sugar is under control (104-114) My last HA1C was 10.7

I can not say for sure if insulin injections could cause these symptoms. It is uncommon for insulin to cause problems that you describe.

Your symptoms are very serious and disturbing. Is your urine dark? Does your skin itch? Do the whites of your eyes look yellow? Clay-colored stool can point to serious liver damage. If the liver can not remove bilirubin from the blood and produce bile, stool becomes "whitish". Nausea and vomiting can also indicate that your liver doesn't work well.

Considering your long history of hepatitis C, you need to see the doctor soon, check these symptoms out, and get labs and some imaging tests done. Do not put this off. See a good physician.

HCV may not be directly related to your current situation, but it is a contributing factor to your overall condition.  Since you are diabetic, you are also insulin resistent. Getting rid of HCV can have an effect on insulin resistence.  However, insulin resistence can be a factor of difficulty in getting rid of HCV.  Having had HCV for 25 years maybe it's time to begin to looking into resolving  it.  With a recent A1C of 10.7 I don't think you can claim 'control' quite yet. See a doc.
