CONGRATS! when will you have the 6 month pcr results?
A pcr would tell the tale.
You ALTs are just gorgeous, like Mike Simmon once said.
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(almost) Time to party!
Congrats.

A guarded congratulations until we see that PCR! Fasting shouldn't influence cholesterol as much as triglicerides. How high was your cholesterol?
-- Jim
i didnt get the exact details about the cholesterol over the phone since i dont know much about it anyway, but i think she said it was 80.
That cholesterol number doesn't sound right at all. Never heard of a total cholesterol as LOW as 80. Either she gave you the wrong number or they're using a different scale in Pakistan. In the U.S.A. normal cholesterol is under 200 mg/dL, although the really important numbers are the HDL and LDL cholesterol. Make sure you get your own copy of the report and please post those three numbers plus your triglicerides, assuming they do all these tests -- Total Cholesterol, HDL Cholesterol, LDL Cholesterol, Triglicerides.
-- Jim
i was told to fast but i didnt. the nurse said it was high, so maybe i'm imagining the 80 part. maybe she said 180? i'll get an update tommorrow.
orrr, maybe some value OTHER than the total cholesterol was at 80. cud it be tryglycerides?
No point guessing. Get your own copy of all labs. This is very important.
-- Jim
I meant it's very important in general to get your own lab report copies -- didn't mean it in the sense that I sense you're having any major problems. I'm guessing the "80" is something else, possibly triglicerides, maybe even "HDL" which is the good cholesterol. But again, no point guessing.
my own guess is, the cholesterol was abnormally low, and the nurse just saw a red flag in front of it.
Oh, and get a copy of your cholesterol, triglicerdies, etc, BEFORE treatment as well, so you will have something to compare. And no, "80" sounds too low for a total cholesterol. Don't they have fax machines in Pakistan?
are you avoiding the pcr test? you are foolish if you are going to rely on your LFT's to determine that you acheived SVR. best of luck
Congradulations on the low #. But, get the pcr to be positive. Alt's can get that low, if I remember right at one point in tx, my went to 7. Very good sign though. Let us know the results of your pcr.
Have a great day.
