have you been tested for cryoglobulinemia? check the symptoms in a web search to see if they match yours.
I never heard of thrombophillia before, learning about it today.
You might want to check Raynod's (sp?) syndrome or a similar condition chev here mentioned a while back.
what genotype are you and what is the result of your biopsy, if you had one?
My genotype is 2a-2c stage 2-2,I have been very sick lately and I have bruising all over arms and legs with small broken blood vessels bleeding on chest and back, not spider nevi. Thrombophillia is a platelet dysfunction factor V Leiden. I am getting genetically tested for it, but I know my mother and father have it. This alters the way blood work is done in LFTs.
But GP and specialists don't want to be told you have a genetic blood disorder, so I'm going to a clinic. I also have bleeding in my gastrointestinal tract,(black)my sister died young of colorectal cancer and they said it was genetic. Factor V Leiden was discovered in 1996.
Raynaud's syndrome could be accentuated by Hepatitis C, but what I have is an autoimmune condition now. Its most likely that treatment does not work in autoimmune conditions, but there is other treatment. I just don't want to lose my last kidney with some cryoglobulin or something like that. Plus they are finding out now new strains of hepatitis C. Also mosquitos carry it. Also the government does not want to pay for genetic testing for illness, but I want to know and too bad for the life insurance policy.
Have you been tested for ITP? I have a friend with your symtoms minus hep-c, her platelets go down real low, she goes in for infusions when that happens, she had to have her spleen removed. google ITP and also ask your doc about it, it took hers quite awhile before they came up with her diagnosis, good luck
There's another clotting disorder called Antiphospholipid Syndrome which, according to some studies, is linked to HCV. I was diagnosed with it several years ago, before I even knew I had HCV.
So if HCV can cause one particular kind of clotting disorder, it makes sense to me that it can cause another type, too.
