24 hour urine

Kinda of a weird question but I am a week from biopsy and my Doctor has requested both a blood test and 24 hour urine?.  Anyone else do this ?

If you have HCV I think it's appropriate to check your renal function. Perhaps your blood creatinine and/or urea nitrogen (BUN) were out of range. I hope all of your results are good.

thx....another silly question but what do my kidney's  have to do with Biospy?

The 24 hour urine test is to get an idea of your kidney function.

The urine, no.  Blood test is for PT-PTT, your ability to clot.  If you are way,way slow on clotting they will choose a method besides needle biopsy or delay it.
