Doctor Visit Yesterday

My husband finally found out that he has genotype 1a hep C and the viral load is 21,000.  He will have a liver ultrasound-biopsy early February.  He is dreading it but knows it has to be done.  This recent doctor visit was a good one and I got a lot of my questions answered. We like the doctor.  Doc told me not to worry that my husband is in very good physical health and he should come through this fine.

It's amazing how worried we get and then afterwards we all go oh...they were right!  Nobody likes getting it done but it's tolerable.

I hope he doesn't have much scarring and you get back nice low numbers!

That's great, I'm glad it went so well for him and especially that his liver looks good.  Hope the results match!

My husband had his liver biopsy yesterday. He was very nervous about this. They did give him mild sedation and also numbed his skin. It went very well and my husband said it was not nearly as bad as he thought it would be.  We won't get the full results for a few days.  The radiologist and his team were great with my husband. They kept him laughing and helped relax him. The radiologist did say that the liver was perfectly positioned, looked normal on ultrasound with no swelling.  Afterward they brought my husband a huge breakfast with 2 cups of coffee.  We waited about one hour and a half before he was released.  Today he says he only feels a little soreness.

I really did not enjoy my biopsy. I had a low fever and was coming down with a cold and I started my period when I came out of the surgery. He won't have to worry about that! But tell him to get the food and liquids out. I needed to go to the bathroom afterwards and I could not use a bed pan. I tried to get up and go to the bathroom and almost passed out. Gave the nurse a heartattack! Not really but close. Don't want to move a lot afterwards till they know you aren't going to bleed to death. He, he!
I had a friend who went back to work the next day. Everyone is different. Just be there for him.
