I have been treated as most of you remember  for Hip C finished in June 2012. UND (thanks to God) and all your support here. My question is now I am fighting this cold scratchy throat and cough and sinus. I have not been to Dr becase did not want take any more Med while my liver is trying to heal. I do the liguids and been using the Vit c drops to perevent coughing any one here have suggestion. I have cipro. and was wondering if anyone has used it for a few days for this type problem. I also have clindamycin  that my dentist gives me before dental work I have to take this becase of open heart many years ago. I dont take any medication other than  sentroid for thyroid any suggestions.

I give in went to the Urgent Care  Dr today. i was runing low grade fever. The Dr.  said I had sinus. I told her about Hip.  C and that i had been teated and  I  was  not not wanting to take any more meds . She gave me cefdinir 300 mg. Sure hope it works  . Hey there bbj, good to hear from you and especially that you achieved SVR! Sorry about the viruses though. I don't think it's a good idea to take any antibiotics unless you are certain you have a bacterial infection. They won't touch a viral infection and they can cause their own problems. If you might have influenza you should contact your doctor right away to ask for Tamiflu. It can lessen the severity and longevity of influenzas if taken early in the infection. Otherwise eat lots of real chicken soup (my pulmonologist recommended this to me when I had pneumonia, citing numerous scientific studies showing more rapid recoveries) and use only mild OTC remedies.
